Asbestos Removal Across Greater Geelong
Many Geelong homes built or renovated before 1990 contain asbestos — in fibro walls and eaves, roof sheeting, vinyl floor tiles and the linings of older bathrooms and laundries. You will find it everywhere from post-war homes in the northern suburbs to older houses closer to the city and beach shacks and holiday homes on the Bellarine and Surf Coast. Before you renovate, demolish or sell, it pays to know what is there.
Geelong is a short drive from our base in the Golden Plains Shire. We remove bonded asbestos from homes, sheds, garages and commercial properties, arrange testing, air monitoring and clearance certificates through independent licensed hygienists, handle small demolitions and contaminated soil, and take all asbestos waste to an EPA-licensed facility as part of our asbestos disposal service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which areas around Geelong do you cover?
We work right across Greater Geelong — including Belmont, Highton, Grovedale, Newtown, Geelong West, Hamlyn Heights, Lara, Corio, Norlane and Armstrong Creek — as well as the Bellarine Peninsula (Leopold, Drysdale and Ocean Grove), the Surf Coast (Torquay and surrounds) and the Golden Plains Shire. If you are not sure whether we cover your area, give us a call.
Do you do commercial asbestos removal in Geelong?
Yes. As well as homes, we remove asbestos from commercial and industrial properties, farms and rural sheds. In workplaces, asbestos must be identified and managed, and removed by a licensed removalist before refurbishment or demolition work that could disturb it. We can work from your asbestos register and arrange clearance through an independent licensed hygienist.
Do I need council approval to demolish a building in Geelong?
Demolishing more than half of a building, or any part of its street-facing facade, needs report and consent from the City of Greater Geelong (Section 29A) and a building permit before work starts. If the property is under a Heritage Overlay, you also need a planning permit. Small freestanding sheds and garages are often exempt from a building permit. Any asbestos must be identified and safely removed before demolition begins — something we take care of as part of the job.
How much does asbestos removal cost in Geelong?
It depends on the type and amount of asbestos, whether it is bonded or friable, how easy it is to access (for example, working at height on a roof), and disposal. Testing, air monitoring and clearance certificates add to the cost where they are needed. We inspect the site and give you a free, no-obligation quote with a clear scope of work before anything starts.
Can you test for asbestos before I renovate my Geelong home?
Yes. If your home was built or renovated before 1990, have materials tested before you cut, drill, sand or remove them. We arrange sampling and analysis through independent licensed hygienists and accredited laboratories, and if asbestos is found, our licensed team can remove it safely.
